The flames of the world
The flames of the world burn outside each our doors,
With every step we take there must be awareness to maintain and endure.
Compassion in our hearts
...is like a rose waiting to bloom,
Kind engagement with the world,
is the roses sweet perfume.
There’s so much
suffering
pain
and wars,
Generally the earth is always in turmoil,
and has a thirst for wanting more.
As a mother loves her child
and would give her life for their sake
We can move mountains
with true selflessness
that our compassion can create.

Trying to speak
Trying to speak my mouth disappears,
trying to listen so do my ears.
Seeing and everything turns black.
Touching an object nothing comes back.
A sweet fragrance touches my nose,
...but it’s gone before the scents even known.
Thinking my mind drifts away,
feeling alright.
How’s your day?

Foot steps.
When walking my feet touch the ground the pulse of each step slightly making a sound.
Thinking of all the others walking.
Do any of them think the same thing?

... When sitting meditating counting my breath,
a small vibration from a billion foot steps,
make my candle and incense smoke dance.

That can only be seen in a quick glance,
or maybe it’s that notorious butterfly flapping it’s wings somewhere in France?

Dualism
Dualism is my prison,
And has ten thousands doors,
With no ceiling many walls,
...and has a very thin glass floor.
Being here is a undertaking of my own design.
And no complaining or whining will improve,
or give worth to this samsara world I make mine.

The wish

My Heart.
In my heart, there is a sweet sadness from the years that have
passed, and the person that evolved wouldn’t go back if given
the chance. Each moment is an experience of awareness that’s true, positive
or negative it’s up to us what we choose. With compassion to guide our direction, raise up motivation to improve ...And give us a clearer perception.
To understand the Buddha and enlightened ones great vastness of wealth,
they have given to help stop the suffering and delusions of all sentient beings that are still lost in themselves.

Clear View.
My Mother dead, Father dead, the kiss of death hangs over each our heads,
with attachment to life as age wears out existence threads.
Grasping to what ?
Looking into the eyes of death, there’s my honesty,
.........my humility, my sincerity, but still there is adversity respectfully.
Balancing on a pin point knowing it will, but hope it won’t.
My bags are packed, but did I forget something ?
In this precious life with it’s joy and suffering,
the older I get the less I cling,
with a clear view not yet seen.

Fall.

Leaves of red, brown, yellow, orange, some so bright with others warm.
Cooler days, harvest moon, the sweet goodbye of summer that’s gone too soon.
Autumn sky and shorter days, witches and scarecrows stuffed with old rags and straws of hay.
...Schools and football start and maturing quick, anticipating freezing cold and what needs fixed. Homes and cars to be prepared, for the winters snow and the warm clothes we wear.
It always seems fall motivates most of us, and with the cool short days you can’t do enough.
Love the seasonal change its like the passing of a train, you never know what you’ll get, how long it will be or what too expect.
Love the way of nature.

Claudio Battista

My name is Claudio Battista, I live and work in a small town in the Abruzzi highlands. I have been, for quite a while, following the trail that, from the silvery reflection of the dawn, projected me through unexplored areas, fantastic worlds and imaginary reality of the photographic universe. Driven by a passion for photography I always tried to take on the teachings of the masters, however, trying to stay constantly connected to a vision of "personal" reality, escaping stereotypes and clichés that often tear this fantastic world. My first steps were on the hills of my homeland, which emanations and inner qualities I explored with an attentive eye, seeking there my own ‘intimacy’. Nowadays, I am bound by all aspects of photography: digital, analog, the transition from each other, the history and evolution, but above all: my personal view of the world, filtered by the knowledge and the teachings of the great ones, the permanent questioning and, I would say, almost obsessive questioning about what is right to show and not to show in an image. Playing with this area of mystery inherent to all reality, determines the depth of a photo, after the poetry of Louis Ghirri; choosing this area in relation to its own ‘feeling’, I think it’s the base and also the diversity that characterizes my vision.
My last search ‘Vortici’ is really based on this concept of finding the limit of a representability forced within the boundaries of perception in order to achieve an idealization of reality… the obvious disruption that is hanging with the fleeting flow of time.
